Welcome to StoryTold, a product of Daystar Studios ("we", "us", "our"). By using our service at storytold.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. What StoryTold Is

StoryTold is an AI-powered biographical interview service. You speak or type your life story in conversation with an AI interviewer, and our system transforms your responses into a written narrative portrait. The service is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Your Account and Access

Chapter 1 of your story is free. To unlock the full experience (up to 5 chapters), a one-time payment is required. By making a purchase, you gain access to the full interview experience, story generation, downloads, and sharing features associated with your session.

3. Pricing

• Chapter 1: Free
• Full experience (5 chapters): $79

All prices are in USD. We reserve the right to adjust pricing for future purchases, but any price you have already paid will be honored in full.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with StoryTold for any reason, contact us within 30 days of your purchase at support@storytold.app and we will issue a full refund — no questions asked.

Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

5. Your Content and Responsibility

Everything you share during your StoryTold interview belongs to you. You retain full ownership of your stories, responses, and the narratives generated from them.

However, you are solely responsible for the content of your story, including any claims, statements, or descriptions you make about other people. Specifically:

• You are responsible for ensuring that your story does not contain defamatory, false, or misleading statements about identifiable individuals.
• If you choose to share or publish your story, you accept full responsibility for its content and any consequences of sharing it.
• StoryTold and Daystar Studios accept no liability for claims made by you about third parties within your story.

6. Sharing and Publication

StoryTold allows you to share chapters or your complete story via private links or file downloads. Before sharing, you acknowledge that:

• You have the right to share the content of your story.
• You take responsibility for any claims about other people contained in your story.
• Shared stories may be accessed by anyone with the link — share thoughtfully.

7. How We Use AI

StoryTold uses artificial intelligence to conduct interviews and write your narrative. While we work hard to ensure accuracy and faithfulness to your words:

• AI-generated narratives are based on what you share. The quality and accuracy of the output depends on the quality of your input.
• We instruct our AI to faithfully preserve your voice and avoid adding details you did not provide, but no AI system is perfect.
• You are encouraged to review your generated story and flag any passages that do not accurately reflect what you shared.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use StoryTold to:

• Create content that is intentionally defamatory, threatening, or harassing toward others.
• Generate false narratives about real people for malicious purposes.
• Exploit the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the service.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep StoryTold available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or temporarily suspend the service for maintenance or improvements. Your story data is saved locally in your browser; we recommend downloading your completed stories for safekeeping.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Daystar Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of StoryTold, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or claims by third parties related to content you created.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of StoryTold after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
